PHOENIX -- Jill Biden, along with Senator Mark Kelly, former U.S. Representative Gabby Giffords, and other prominent figures spoke at a reproductive rights rally in Downtown Phoenix, campaigning for the presidential election of Kamala Harris.
As the line outside Warehouse 215 in Phoenix on Saturday lengthened, the anticipation to hear from the First Lady of The United States on the Harris campaign’s ‘Fighting for Reproductive Freedom’ Bus Tour began to grow.
Registered rally attendees entered through air-port-like security and began to fill the warehouse with lively conversation and optimism. Majority democratic, some still undecided, the diverse room of people had one thing in common: the goal for reproductive freedom.
Podium stage set up awaiting the lineup of reproductive freedom advocates.
“It means that you have the right to choose…we need that right to change for freedom, freedom, justice and equality is love, and we’re not feeling that love,” said rally attendee, Constance, prior to the start of the event.
Harris-Walz merchandise was spotted throughout the room and an obvious passion for democracy was prevalent. Gradually, the room became quiet, and the attention was drawn to the podium as Dr. Biden took the stage, which stood in front of the American and Arizona state flags.

“But for the generations of women who have fought for our rights, for all the men who understand that this is their fight too,” said Dr. Jill Biden. “And for every young girl who will grow up in a world that we will decide this November.”
With the 2024 presidential election quickly approaching, this rally promoted the pro-choice policies supported by Vice President Kamala Harris and the reproductive freedom advocates from the bus tour.
Senator Mark Kelly, former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, Governor Katie Hobbs, Congressman Ruben Gallego, reproductive freedom advocate Kate Cox, actress Sophia Bush, and actor Bryan Cranston all spoke out to the crowd of hopeful voters and attendees.
Every speaker shared their personal belief that women should have the right to make their own reproductive decisions and should not have to endure government intervention regarding their bodily autonomy.
“We have the opportunity to enshrine the right to abortion in our state’s constitution so that no politician can ever take that right away from us again.” said Arizona Governor, Katie Hobbs. “And we have a real chance to elect democratic majorities to our state legislature and that will allow us to do even more to protect our reproductive rights including passing the Right to Contraception Act, and safeguarding IVF.”

The audience remained engaged throughout the course of the rally and ‘Reproductive-Freedom’ signs waved in the air. As the speakers provided voting information, notable resources, and memorable pieces of advice, the focus of the room was deeply committed to fighting for the reproductive freedom of American citizens and for generations to come.
“I have an 18-year-old voting in this election for the first time, they’re affected by the abortion ban. But again, as a father, it’s important to me that my children have a choice over their bodily autonomy.” said rally attendee Justin Hostem. “Every woman should have that for themselves, and their doctors should be the ones who are able to make plans and not the government deciding what their body and what their family is going to look like.”
