Kamala Harris makes one last stop in Phoenix to encourage Latino voters to head over to the ballot boxes now.

Updated: Nov 5

On Thursday, Vice President Harris visited Arizona’s Talking Stick Resort Amphitheater along with Arizona Democratic leaders such as, Ex-Rep. Gabby Giffords, Rep. Ruben Gallego, Sen. Mark Kelly and Gov. Katie Hobbs. All of whom emphasized the importance of getting to vote this year and livened up the crowd.

During his speech, Rep. Gallego opened up by highlighting his backing of Harris and determination to beat politician Kari Lake for the Senate seat.

“If we fight together, we can number one: defeat Kari Lake, number two: defeat Donald Trump, and number three: fight for a better future,” said Gallego.

He reached out to the Hispanic audience by occasionally translating certain sentences and phrases. “Vamos a luchar,” said Gallego.

Strengthening the Hispanic reach, the Harris campaign had the Northern Mexican Banda Los Tigres Del Norte perform as part of the opening.

While performing, the singers spoke to the audience in both English and Spanish. “Soy Latino, soy Mestizo, soy de todos colores y soy de los Estados Unidos,” said lead singer Jorge Hernández. “Vamos Kamala.”

The vice president appeared on stage at around 1:50 p.m. She discussed her plans on keeping the economy stable and providing economic safety for the middle class.

“If he is elected, Donald Trump will walk in with an enemies list,” said Vice President Harris. “When I am elected, I will walk in with a to do list. On top of my list is bringing down your cost of living.”

The vice president specified that she plans on giving a “middle class tax cut to over 100 million Americans” as well as enacting the “first ever federal corporate ban on price gouging on groceries.”

Harris continued to talk about healthcare rights like Obamacare and how Trump plans on getting rid of it, “It would throw millions of Americans off of their healthcare insurance and take us back to the time, which we remember, when insurance companies could deny people with pre existing conditions,” said Harris. “We are not going back.”

Amid her motivational speech, Palestinian protesters broke out in chant. Harris addressed the protesters. “Let's talk for a moment about Gaza,” said Vice President Harris. “We all want this war to end and get the hostages out and I will work on it full time when I am elected president as I have been.”

Including healthcare rights, she goes on to bring up abortion and reproductive rights. Harris argues that Trump’s stance on reproductive rights and thoughts of himself being the ‘protector of women’ is offensive and demonstrates troublesome patterns.

“He simply does not respect the freedom of women or the intelligence of women to make their own decisions,” said Vice President Harris.

She discussed her stances against Trump’s anti-immigration policies and talked about pushing safer regulations for migrants seeking asylum at the border.

“It's not just what he says, it's what he will do,” said Vice President Harris. “You can be sure he will bring back family separation policies, only on a much greater scale than last time, and it is time then to turn the page on Donald Trump.”

After a quick nod and praise to the youth and first time voters, Harris pledged to “be a president for all Americans.” Harris closed by arguing that Trump has focused on dividing the country while she promises to work on uniting it. Harris said, “He wants to put them in jail. I’ll give them a seat at the table. Because that’s how democracy works and how real leaders work.”
